Nice when something finally works
2002-10-06 11:30 pmI've been working on some website operating software for a while now. So I dove back into the file-management CGI and got upload debugged. It's baling-wire and duct-tape at the moment, but it'll get the job done.
This whole project has been taking a whole lot longer than I expected -- it's now a year since my original target date -- so it's nice to see something actually working.
You can see it in action, sort of, at http://penguinsong.net/ ; the code's at http://penguinsong.org/org/projects/Combo/ .

But, it wouldn't let me browse into a subdirectory that's a symlink (and hence invisible to PROPFIND) nor into the CGI (likewise invisible). So what it looks like is that Windows insists that it be able to follow a PROPFIND chain from the root down to the directory. One break in the chain and it doesn't believe you have a web folder. Nautilus and cadaver are not so picky.
May be worth persuing later.
