Yet Another Music Meme.

Here are my six favorite songs at the moment:

1. Don Simpson -- Ship of Stone
2. Stan Rogers -- The Mary Ellen Carter
3. Bob Dylan -- Desolation Row (close runner-up: "Lilly, Rosemary and the Jack of Hearts")
4. Bob Kanefsky -- Eternal Flame (close runner-up: "Dear Departed")
5. Cat Faber -- Wings
6. Eric Bogle -- The Band Played "Waltzing Matilda" (many others here, too, but especially "Nobody's Moggy")

Four of these are songs that I sing myself; I'm working on "Eternal Flame" and need to learn "Wings".

Thanks for the links; I would have found them eventually, but it's nice to get the pointer.

Thanks, too, for the explicit permission. I always try to credit the author(s) -- it annoys me no end to hear someone credit a song to a performer when I know who the songwriter really is. Besides, the credits and a little bit about how I came by the song makes a good intro.

I agree, how one came by the song does make a good intro.

I always try to credit a song's author, too, and sometimes have learned that the attribution I had was wrong, but I'd rather say something and have it corrected, than propagate a mistaken impression that a song is mine. I'm willing to claim what I have written, but think authors should get credit for their work, whenever possible!
