I always try to credit the author(s) -- it annoys me no end to hear someone credit a song to a performer when I know who the songwriter really is. Besides, the credits and a little bit about how I came by the song makes a good intro.

I always try to credit a song's author, too, and sometimes have learned that the attribution I had was wrong, but I'd rather say something and have it corrected, than propagate a mistaken impression that a song is mine. I'm willing to claim what I have written, but think authors should get credit for their work, whenever possible!
