mdlbear: (facehugger)

... they read its entrails smart card, write you a prescription (for 9cm H2O, in my case), and give you a shiny new facehugger. Well, strictly speaking, you keep the mask and tube, so it's the old facehugger with a new pump on its tail. The new one is about half the size of the old one, and powered via a wallwart.

I'm still not sleeping all that much better, but I'm not feeling quite as tired in the evening.

I found it took another 2-3 weeks to really get used to wearing it and sleeping well while wearing the mask.

Couple of tips, as it sounds like you may have a similar model.

One of the 3 top buttoms is the ramp button. it will drop the pressure and slowly ramp it up over 15-20 minutes. Much more comfortable and easy to get used to then the sudden blast of air in your face.

dig into the config menu, there is a setting for how much the pressure backs offs when it detects an exhale. I turned my up to 3 and was much more comfortable.

Okay... Are you on a CPAP or BiPAP... I have a setting of max 19 and min 7. I haven't tried "hacking" into my cpap. Only you, Steve, would think about hacking a cpap.. giggle.
