...is skipping. They only seem to last a year or two; probably has something to do with dust. I'll go out and get a cleaning kit, but I don't expect it to help a whole lot.

with a keyboard-cleaner blast of compressed air. It might not work on yours, but it's quick & cheap to try.

Of course Mindy may have destroyed our satellite box with a spray of cleaning fluid.

The compressed air (or more likely freon, in this case) may have done the trick. Thanks for the suggestion.
